Scorpids used to be powerful, but they were fixed and are no more. If your pet pulls aggro off your tank, you need a new tank. So, she stays in the stables most of the time.Low profile and pet threat shouldn't ever be an issue for hunters. I also use a cat but find really haven't found any area where it excels over my scorp. The poison doesn't seem like a lot but over the course of a 5-6 minute fight it really adds up to some nice bonus damage. And best of all - he's very low to the ground which doesn't piss off other people like the huge bats and owls and stuff do.

With the free 50 focus from my crits its easy for him to maintain full stacks of his poison and spam Claw, and I never have aggro issues with him either. In raids I disable growl and turn on cower, leave claw and max rank Scorpid poison up. So, she stays in the stables most of the time. Stacking poison + easy aggro management + low profile that doesn't enrage the raid = win/win situation in my book. I doubt a scorpid would match up in sheer dps to something like a Ravager, but I think its a good choice never the less. DĪnyhow! In raids I disable growl and turn on cower, leave claw and max rank Scorpid poison up. I've been complimented countless times on what an excellent pet he is, and often find that people remember me because of her pet. rank Claw, Growl, Cower and Scorpid Sting. avoidance and cobra reflexes (may be something else, I'm tired) Max. He's trained in Highest rank of Natural Armor, 2nd Highest STA.

And while which pet is best is certainly subjective, and will elicit different replies from different people, I have to say that her pet, a scorpid, has yet to let her down. She clocks in at 27.90% crit/2640 AP raid buffed. and so I wanted to be one of the 'good' ones! Went into her knowing all too well what an awful rep hunters had at the time. I also have a 70 hunter, MM/Surv spec (enough for the improvements in traps) and its one of the toons I have worked the hardest to learn and excel at. Thanks in advance to everyone contributing to this thread. I'm going to bed now, and I'm expecting a good read tomorrow! Get on it!) (A lot of questions, but from my experience, you get the best answers when listing the questions explicitly. How would you compare ravagers to windserpents? Hitherto, the ravager has been my prefered pet, due to its high dmg and Gore. I also have a cat and a ravager in stock atm. What other pet would you argue is the pet of choice for raiding? Particularly for MM Hunters, since this is relevant to me. What do windserpents require in order to be able to perform well? (spec, talents, stats etc.) If I have 31% crit and GftT, will it then be the pet of choice in order to reach the highest possible dps? Or is the windserpent only usable for BM Hunters? Thus, I've been looking at windserpents recently, and I would like to discuss their usability in raids. Then some also mention windserpents, and I even saw on the frontpage killshot that one of the hunters in Vis Maior uses a windserpent.
I've been searching a lot on various sites, and the opinions are so divided that it's hopeless to get an overall idea. I'd like to discuss which pet is best for raiding.
